How they met:
“Yuveer and I met in the student card queue during university registration in February 2007. During our first year on campus, we became best friends and by October of that year we started dating. The rest as they say is history,” shares Manisha.

The funny thing is that throughout high school, Yuveer and I saw each other everyday as he sat on the school bus which passed by my house. In the morning, I would wait outside my house to catch my transport to get to school.

Planning the big day:
Being the eldest children from each of our homes and coming from HUGE families, we knew we were in for (chaos) – a big fat traditional wedding.

We knew we wanted a full traditional Gujarati wedding. Yuveer and I were both living in Johannesburg so planning a wedding in Durban was quite tricky. We made a significant number of trips to Durban to meet with suppliers and plan with our families. We were lucky enough to have the help of our parents and sisters.

We had a big fat GUJJI wedding with 520 guests in attendance.

The venues included DLI Hall, Jaipur Palace and Kendra Hall for the respective functions. Our functions started on the 30th April 2015. Yuveer and I had our engagement at Jaipur Palace followed by his Mandvo. On the morning of the 1st I had my Pithi at DLI Hall and that very same evening I had my Satak and our joint Sanji at the same venue. Our wedding took place on Sunday 3rd May 2015 at Kendra Hall.

Everything was special about our wedding, the entire build up, the pre- wedding functions and the wedding. The dance rehearsals for the Sanji bring back the best memories

Advice for other brides and grooms to be:
- Try not to stress about too many details close to the big day. Rather try to enjoy the festivities with your family and friends.
- Your guest list can be the most stressful part of your wedding. Agree on your numbers from the onset.
