Tejni and Kishan

Love is infectious and so is the corona virus…

The pandemic saw a change in how brides and grooms approach planning and hosting their weddings. While the size of weddings were scaled down to accommodate the newly imposed restrictions, focus has been placed on adding personalized and sentimental details to wedding ceremonies. The newly found concept of Covid- weddings are celebrated intimately with family members and only the best of friends.

This is true for Tejni and Kishan who had reluctantly postponed their wedding from December 2020 to May 2021.

Tejni reflects on planning their big day, ” Nine months after the start of lockdown and after loosing many family members to the virus, we opted to postpone our wedding. We prayed that the pandemic would be over by our newly set wedding date(May 2021). Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case and we cut down our guest numbers further to ensure the safety of all those attending.”

The radiant bride, Tejni ,donned a glamourous greyish-silver lengha which was lightly strewn with maroon gems. Contrasted with stylish jewelry and an ornate maroon dupatta her overall look resulted in her nailing the modern day Indian bride look. On the other hand dapper groom ,Kishan, opted for a cream suit with maroon detailing which complemented his bride perfectly.

The most memorable part of our wedding , despite the actual ceremony was family being united after months of lockdown.

“And to both Kishan and I, the look of joy on our parents’ faces as they interacted with their family whom they had not seen for months,” says Tejni.

“The memories and interaction of the wedding festivities will definitely be held close to our hearts for the rest of our lives.”
