Yodha and Vishay

So it’s a crazy story but definitely one that makes me believe in destiny- Vishay and I met 12 years ago (we were only 16) during the 2010 soccer World Cup. We both attended the same match.

In a stadium filled with 96000 people that night he happened to sit next to me -if that’s not destiny I don’t know what is!

We immediately started talking and hit it off. Within a year Vishay said something crazy to me. He said, “Yodha I promise I’ll marry you one day.” At the time I thought he was crazy.

Fast forward 11 years later, with all the ups and downs he kept his promise and made me his wife. I can’t imagine my life without him. He’s truly my best friend.

I have a type A personality, so my husband and I started planning our big day a year in advance.

I made sure we paid attention to every detail. Even with all that planning the month leading up to the wedding was still stressful. We both were on the same page for everything- that made things easier.

We opted for a pastel themed garden wedding with a few standout colours. Our wedding outfits were selected to compliment those colours.

All the love and excitement that I was surrounded by leading up to the wedding and on the wedding day by my close family and friends is a feeling that was truly memorable. The highlight of my day was walking down the aisle. As little girl I always dreamt of this moment. Knowing I was about to marry the love of my life, my soulmate and best friend was surreal.

The moment I walked around the fire squeezing my husband’s hand was something really momentous and special for me.

My advice to other bridal couples is enjoy every moment, the day goes by so quickly and before you know it, your big day is over. Also, just let the little things go. You can’t control everything. Remember that the happiness for you and your partner is all that matters as it your day.
