Nikisha and Kamith

Surprisingly enough, we attended the same high school in Newcastle but never met each other. We even had some common friends. My brother and Kamith even played cricket in the same team but Kamith and I never crossed paths per say !

We met via a simple Hello on Instagram after I noticed Kamith liking all my posts. Kamith did the coy and charming thing and played it cool, even pretending to not know how to use Instagram to get my WhatsApp contact details- which worked like a charm. After exchanging numbers we chatted for about 6 months, having long conversations but never meeting until July 2017.

The date, time and venue was set for our first meet. It was a coffee (date) at Mug & Bean which turned out to be a few hours of chatting and since then… we’ve never been apart.

Like most weddings – wedding planning was stressful.

Our advice to brides and grooms to be is follow your hearts as a couple. Whatever and whoever doesn’t support that shouldn’t have a place in your day.

My parents really rallied around us to make sure we got things done. The wedding day too didn’t fall short of drama – my brother fell and dislocated his knee, the amazing and talented Shezaad Ally stepped in to keep me calm and help get me ready while all the chaos happened around me. A tip for bridal couples- choose service providers who will support you through your day.

We loved working with our service providers. Two of our favourites were Ishk Events who went out their way to co-ordinate our invites into his and hers versions. Ishk Events also brought our event décor and theme to life. Our other favourite service provider was our dearest, Shezaad Ally. He captured every moment so perfectly and showed us so much love and kindness through out our functions.

My parents did an amazing job with the décor they hand made and put together.

I am very filmy and a homeless romantic. For me, Kamith’s first reaction when we saw each other was extremely special and my favourite part of our special day.

I had always looked at a groom when the bride enters and I’m so glad my groom’s reaction was so memorable.

Kamith’s favorite part was filling my sindhoor.

Our first dance was very special as Kamith plays along with my filminess even though he isn’t into dancing. Our first dance as Mr and Mrs Jairam was to Raatein Lamibiyaan.

He dances along with me creating my romantic Bollywood moments. He even danced into the wedding!! Our save the date was a filmy dance too!

Priceless moments from the big day
