The inspiration:<\/strong> Our wedding theme was free-spirited, bohemian chic playing around with neutral tones, rustic textures and indigenous florals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I wanted a fuss-free, relaxed bridal look that was focused on comfort and was more inclined towards\u00a0softer, pastel hues for my bridal lehenga<\/strong>. <\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

I found the perfect balance in a classic outfit by Anushree Reddy in blush pink embroidered\u00a0with traditional ‘cutdana’<\/em> work over sheer, lightweight\u00a0organza. I accented my outfit with understated gold and moissanite jewelry,\u00a0a statement maang tikka<\/em> accented with bright green jadtaar<\/em> beads which gave the look a pop of colour and contrast and a mid-sized kundan nath<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n

My make-up was simple and ethereal, while for my hairstyle I went with a low, side-swept bun to support the weight of my dupatta. <\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The look was completed with a pair of pleated, low-heeled sandals with a bow which\u00a0added a touch of whimsy to the overall look.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I think a\u00a0bridal look is the opportunity for brides to highlight their personalities and style with artistic flair and creativity. The most special part of this experience was being able to select the pieces which are\u00a0quintessentially\u00a0me, bringing all the little details together in a beautiful, harmonious way.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Best part of getting dressed on the big day: <\/strong>Seeing my transformation through all the stages of hair and make-up, getting pictures taken, having my loved ones around and listening to them chattering excitedly while they get ready. It’s fun and enjoyable, but you have to consciously remind yourself to pause and take in all the details.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most stressful part about putting the look together: <\/strong>Disclaimer alert, you will stress about things you never even thought possible! Finding the right shade of gold to match your outfit… One dupatta or two? Will the dupatta set well? Everything worked out in the end, but these little details can be quite stressful.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Advice for brides to be currently putting their trousseaus together:<\/strong> Stay true to yourself and your personal style, try to stay away from trends and things that will date. <\/p>\n\n\n

I chose every item in my trousseau keeping in mind that I should be able to re-wear it, from my outfits to the accessories and shoes. Timeless styles never go out of fashion, and you should wear your outfit, the outfit should not wear you. <\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n

I didn’t follow convention, I bought my outfit and shoes first, then jewelry and I bought almost my entire trousseau online. Be mindful of what suits your body shape, the style of skirt (flaired, A-line, mermaid etc.) and what suits your face shape (maang tikka, mathapatti, sheeshphool etc.).<\/em> Choose your hair and make-up artist based on what you want your overall look to be. Do a trial to be sure your requirements are understood well.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

Try everything on, multiple times. Be sure that you are comfortable in your shoes, and that your blouse and skirt fit properly. <\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n

If needed, shorten the skirt length to a comfortable length for you to move around without too much effort. Try your clothes on every\u00a0week\u00a0for the last two months in the build-up to the wedding, your body will change so you need to allow sufficient time for adjustments to your outfits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just enjoy the process, it sounds like a lot of details but when you look at the pictures months or years down the line, your heart will be so full, and that feeling is priceless<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
