Bhavic and Tejal

Bhavic and Tejal during their wedding ceremony.

Bhavic and Tejal’s wedding was that of fairytales. Their wedding venue was filled with luscious scenes of greenery and had a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The stunning bride Tejal had chosen a beautiful bridal lengha with bursts of colour throughout and an eye catching salmon hued dupatta. On the other hand, the dashing groom Bhavic selected a cream coloured sherwani with hints of baby blue- a subtle and clever complement to his lovely bride.

Bhavic and Tejal’s wedding captured their love for the outdoors and painted a perfect picture of their warm and approachable personalities.

Tejal shared some special details with us. Read on below:

How they met:

Bhavic and I first met at a campus party in September 2011, only for a moment though, through one of my best friends. December that same year, our paths crossed again at another outing. After a full day of outdoor activities, Bhavic’s best friend encouraged him to accompany me to the local restaurant to get a few bottles of water for everyone. While waiting for the water, we decided to order a drink and got to know each other a bit better. (The others had to wait a little longer than expected for their water).

We just clicked and it was not long after that we started dating. Seven years later while exploring the island Île aux Cerfs, he went down on one knee and asked me to marry him. One and half years later we were announced husband and wife.

Planning the big day:

My husband and I spent our weekends off visiting a variety of garden venues around Johannesburg. We unexpectedly arrived at Inimitable wedding venue which was still being built. The owners Zavion and John had shared their vision of the wedding venue through rendered pictures of the venue.

We instantly fell in love with the venue and its team, hoping and trusting that the pictures would successfully come to life. We were not disappointed at all. The venue is one of fairy tales.

Set up for Bhavic and Tejal’s wedding at the Inimitable wedding venue.

Planning my big day, from picking out the flowers to deciding on the menu, would not have been possible without the help of my family and friends. Not forgetting the mandatory trip to India to get all the outfits for the million events typical for an Indian wedding. Wedding shopping in India is not for the faint hearted. It was incredibly stressful but exciting and rewarding in the end. Luckily Bhavic and I shared similar ideas for the big day which made planning that much easier. My husband and I love nature and the venue boasted a lot of greenery, water features and a spectacular open glass tent which made the occasion tranquil and blissful to all.

I wanted this day to be perfect and I could not have asked for anything better.

Most treasured memories:

My most treasured moment was walking down the aisle with all my support behind me. I felt like a princess. The warm feeling, I felt looking at my husband on the other end was truly unimaginable.

Being a very anxious person, I was filled with excitement. I am not one to be the centre of attention, but I felt such joy as everyone looked my way. I actually giggled a few times. The most fun part of the wedding was the photo shoot with our family and friends.

Walking through the gardens of the venue, hearing the laughter, and seeing everyone smile on my big day made it so much more special. In the end all I can say was everything about my big day was amazing!

Advice for future Brides and Grooms:

Enjoy, embrace, and savour every minute when planning! Do not stress and don’t sweat the small stuff! Do not try to do everything yourself either! I know you want to, but you are going to need the help. You do not want to look burnt out on your own wedding day, do you? And yes, this is the last thing you will want to hear but everything has a way of working out in the end.

During the week of my wedding it rained, and the skies were overcast on the morning of my wedding. However, we saw the light at the end of the tunnel; The weather was absolutely beautiful!

To this day I still find myself smiling thinking about all the planning that went into making my big day perfect.

Our DIY wedding favour was a small succulent plant and our message to you all is to

“Keep love alive and let it grow and you will grow!”
